Find out how you can help out children with cancer

August 2017

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Thanks to the support of generous partners like RBG Club Services, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and around the world. On average, 7,800 active patients visit the hospital each year, most of whom are treated on an outpatient basis. And St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, so every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

The RBG partnership with St. Jude makes a difference for kids like Jenny.

When Jenny experienced repeated respiratory illnesses in her home country, tests showed she had acute myeloid leukemia, a devastating form of blood cancer. After undergoing treatment at a local hospital, Jenny relapsed in December of 2015. She was referred to St. Jude, where doctors often send their toughest cases, because St. Jude has the world's best survival rates for some of the most aggressive forms of childhood cancers.

Jenny’s treatment included chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. St. Jude has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since we opened more than 50 years ago. And we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. “St. Jude not only gives my daughter the medical care that she needs, but they help our entire family,” said her father, Ramon. “Jenny is a very smart and artistic girl.” She recently completed treatment and returns to St. Jude for regular checkup appointments.

How YOU can help.

It costs $2.4 million per day to operate the hospital, a cost primarily covered by individual donors. By joining RBG in their support, your store(s) can help St. Jude continue its lifesaving mission, and you will be associated with one of the world’s most respected health care charities.

St. Jude and RBG have made it easy to be a partner. Support St. Jude this October during the St. Jude Halloween Promotion. Encourage store employees to ask customers to donate $1 at the cash register in exchange for a Halloween-themed St. Jude pin-up they can sign which are then displayed in the store.

Another opportunity to support St. Jude will come in the spring during the “St. Jude Give thanks. Give hope.” campaign. Similar to the fall promotion with its in-store, personalized pinups, this campaign involves about 100 retail partners nationwide and has raised more than $7.35 million since it began in 2009.

Your partnership can help St. Jude achieve Danny’s dream that “no child should die in the dawn of life. At St. Jude, the mission is clear: Finding cures. Saving children.®

Finding Cures. Saving Children.

Support the life-saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

April 2017

St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This special organization is dedicated to providing the best care for their patients. To do that, they need to be at the cutting edge of the latest medicine and research in fighting life-threatening pediatric diseases such as cancer, all while freeing families from the biggest burden in getting life-saving healthcare: the cost. Unlike other hospital the majority of funding for St. Jude comes from generous donors.

Why Support St. Jude?

Families are free to focus on their child

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer

Our founder believed that “no child should die in the dawn of life,” and we’ve spent more than half a century focusing on our mission: Finding cures. Saving Children. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.

Every donation counts

Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation. Approximately 75% of the budgeted costs of St. Jude are covered by public contributions.

Saving children everywhere

St. Jude freely shares the breakthrough it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world.

How Can You Help Out?

St. Jude has been quite successful in working with convenience stores through our programs and we have several times during the year that we run these campaigns: Spring (April and/or May) for Give thanks. Give Hope. or October for their Halloween campaign. Each of these campaigns are consumer facing ‘pinup’ programs. All materials are free and sent directly to each location with no financial investment. In addition, we offer employee incentive opportunities at no cost.
